Executive Summary

Forrester has taken its IT leadership maturity model and tested it against the experience of 84 senior IT executives. This checkup looks at three sets of IT practices: linking technology to business strategy, running IT operations as a business, and relating IT with its business stakeholders. We found that IT gets the operations side of things pretty well, but challenges exist for linking with business strategy and relating to the business. And IT is still weak in terms of metrics for representing its business impact.
